Adding Sound

Please make sure your file is a mp3 file for Smart Notebook for Windows. To convert your file go to Media.io

Assignment: Open a new Smart Notebook file, Add a sound to an object.
Add a second page, do a Sound Recording. See directions below.

To add a sound file to an object

  1. Select the object.
  2. Press the object’s menu arrow, and then select Sound.
    The Insert Sound dialog box appears.
  3. Press Browse.
    The Insert File dialog box appears.
  4. Browse to and select the sound file, and then press Open.
  5. Select Corner Icon if you want to play the sound file when you press an icon in the object’s lower-left corner.
    OR
    Select Object if you want to play the sound file when you press anywhere on the object.
  6. Press Attach Sound.

  1. Connect a microphone to your computer and turn it on.
  2. Select the object.
  3. Press the object’s menu arrow, and then select Sound.
    The Insert Sound dialog box appears.
  4. Click Start Recording.
  5. Record the sound using the microphone.
Important
  • SMART Notebook software stops recording after one minute. Therefore, ensure the sound is no more than one minute long.
  1. Click Stop Recording.
  2. Type a name for the sound in the Recording name box.
  3. Optionally, click Preview Recording to hear the sound before adding it to the object.
  4. Select Corner Icon if you want to play the sound file when you press an icon in the object’s lower-left corner.
    OR
    Select Object if you want to play the sound file when you press anywhere on the object.
  5. Press Attach Recording.

  1. Select the object.
  2. Press the object’s menu arrow, and then select Sound.
    The Insert Sound dialog box appears.
  3. Press Remove Sound.


Create a Notebook File that uses the Sound options of:

Add an external sound (must be a mp3 file)


2. Find sound item in the Gallery

3. Create a Sound Recording

To get a song from a YouTube video, go to YouTube and find your video, copy the URL from the site and then go to http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ paste your URL in the box and click on Convert Video.
